| The Town of Cumberland seeks a qualified firm to complete two distinct tasks:
• prepare up to six (6) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications for the
Housing Rehabilitation Program due by February 28, 2025
• prepare bid documents, review proposals, oversee construction, and complete
administrative documentation for up to six (6) properties
For many years, the Town of Cumberland offered a Home Repair Assistance Program to qualified
homeowners and households earning no more than 80% of Area Median Income. That program
was administered by an outside entity, but it is no longer doing so. Their role included preparing
all CDBG documentation required by the RI Department of Housing and construction bidding and
oversight.
Funds from the program were used for general home rehabilitation, including repair of code
violations and lead hazards; replacement of windows and doors; roof repair; and ADA upgrades.
Currently, the Town has six (6) homeowners on the waiting list. |
